Heritage Distribution Acquires Miami HVAC Distributor AM Distributors

Why This Matters to Distributors: The deal underscores continued consolidation in HVAC distribution as larger platforms expand regional density and contractor reach in fast-growing Sun Belt markets.

Heritage Distribution Holdings, the U.S. platform of global refrigeration and HVAC wholesaler Beijer Ref, has agreed to acquire AM Distributors, an HVAC distributor serving contractors in the Greater Miami market.

Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Founded in 2014, AM Distributors operates three locations in the Miami area. The acquisition expands Heritage Distribution’s presence in Florida and strengthens its position in one of the nation’s largest and fastest-growing HVAC markets.

AM Distributors will continue to operate under its existing brand, and the company’s management team will remain in place following the acquisition, according to Heritage Distribution.

The deal is the latest move by Heritage Distribution as it continues to expand its footprint in the fragmented U.S. HVAC distribution sector through acquisitions of independent distributors with established local customer bases.

Florida remains a key growth market for HVAC distributors because of its population growth, residential and commercial construction activity, and year-round demand for heating, ventilation and air-conditioning equipment and services.

The acquisition is expected to enhance Heritage Distribution’s market coverage in South Florida while expanding its contractor customer base. It also reflects broader consolidation trends across the HVAC distribution industry, where larger distributors continue to seek greater scale, geographic density, and supply chain efficiencies through acquisitions.

The transaction is expected to close following customary conditions. Heritage Distribution did not disclose a timeline for completion.
