Beacon (NYSE: BECN), Herndon, VA, distributor of roofing materials and complementary building products, announced the appointment of Birte von Schwarzenfeld as Senior Vice President of Commercial Solutions.

Schwarzenfeld joins Beacon in a newly created strategic role focusing on commercial business where she will be responsible for serving nonresidential roofing customers. Prior to joining Beacon, Schwarzenfeld worked at Hilti Group, most recently as Senior Vice President, Head of Corporate Strategy and Development. Before that she worked at Hilti Group as the Sales Director/Division Manager based in California.
