August 2024 sales of merchant wholesalers, except manufacturers’ sales branches and offices, after adjustment for seasonal variations and trading day differences but not for price changes, were $670.9 billion, down 0.1% from the revised July level.

Total inventories of merchant wholesalers were $904.8 billion at the end of August, up 0.1% from the revised July level. Total inventories were up 0.6% from the revised August 2023 level.
The April inventories/sales ratio was 1.35. The August 2023 ratio was 1.35.
