ABC Supply Interiors Acquires Wisconsin Distributor Wallboard

Why This Matters to Distributors: The acquisition highlights the continued importance of local-market density in specialty building materials distribution. As national distributors seek faster delivery capabilities and stronger contractor relationships, acquisitions of established regional players remain a key growth strategy.

ABC Supply Interiors has acquired the assets of Wallboard Inc., a Butler, Wisconsin-based distributor of drywall, steel framing, insulation, and related building materials, expanding its presence in the Milwaukee market.

Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

The acquisition adds a second Milwaukee area location and brings ABC Supply Interiors’ Wisconsin footprint to eight branches. The company said Wallboard’s existing team will remain in place following the transaction.

Founded in 1983, Wallboard has served contractors throughout southeastern Wisconsin from its facility in Butler, a Milwaukee suburb. The company has built its business around supplying drywall, framing, insulation, and related interior construction products to commercial and residential contractors.

“Wallboard, Inc. has earned its respected reputation by consistently taking care of contractors,” Mark Woodsum, vice president of ABC Supply Interiors’ North Central Region said. “That contractor-first mindset fits well with who we are, and we’re excited about what we can do together.”

The deal strengthens ABC Supply Interiors’ position in one of Wisconsin’s largest construction markets and expands its ability to serve contractors across the Milwaukee metropolitan area.

ABC Supply Interiors, formerly known as L&W Supply Corp., distributes wallboard, ceiling systems, acoustical products, metal framing, insulation, and related construction materials through a network of more than 270 locations nationwide. The company is part of the ABC Supply family of businesses, which also includes ABC Supply Co. and ABC Supply Outdoor Solutions.

The transaction reflects an ongoing consolidation trend across building materials distribution, where larger distributors continue acquiring regional operators to increase market coverage, improve delivery capabilities and deepen relationships with contractors.

For Wallboard customers, the acquisition provides access to ABC Supply Interiors’ broader product portfolio, purchasing scale and national distribution network while maintaining local operations and customer support.

The acquisition also reinforces ABC Supply Interiors’ long-term investment in Wisconsin, where the company continues to expand its footprint through a combination of organic growth and acquisitions.
