Parts Town Acquires 86 Repairs to Expand Technology and Equipment Service Capabilities

Why This Matters to Distributors: Distributors are increasingly competing on technology as much as product availability. By combining parts distribution with maintenance software and equipment intelligence, Parts Town is expanding beyond traditional distribution into technology-enabled service management that can strengthen customer relationships and create new revenue opportunities.

Parts Town has acquired restaurant equipment maintenance software provider 86 Repairs, expanding its technology platform as the distributor continues to invest in artificial intelligence, equipment intelligence and digital service capabilities.

Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.

The deal combines Parts Town’s original equipment manufacturer (OEM) replacement parts distribution business with 86 Repairs’ cloud-based maintenance management platform, which helps restaurant operators automate repair workflows, coordinate service providers and monitor equipment performance.

Parts Town said the acquisition is designed to create a more connected service platform that enables foodservice operators to identify equipment issues earlier, improve maintenance planning and reduce unplanned downtime.

“Our data shows that equipment downtime remains a critical challenge across the foodservice industry, with many of our customers experiencing unplanned outages on a weekly basis causing substantial operational disruption and financial impact,” said president Clint Holder.

Holder said the acquisition will accelerate the company’s investment in artificial intelligence and data-driven technologies that improve equipment visibility, streamline repair processes and help customers return equipment to service more quickly.

The companies have partnered in recent years, and Parts Town said integrating its parts inventory, equipment data and distribution network with 86 Repairs’ software platform will improve service coordination and provide customers with deeper operational insights.

More than 2,000 restaurant operators use the 86 Repairs platform to manage equipment repairs and maintenance, according to the company.

The acquisition reflects a broader shift across wholesale distribution as companies increasingly combine physical distribution with software, data analytics and artificial intelligence. Rather than competing solely on inventory availability and delivery speed, distributors are building digital platforms that help customers manage equipment, predict maintenance needs and improve operating efficiency.

Parts Town distributes genuine OEM replacement parts for foodservice equipment, residential appliances and heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems. The addition of 86 Repairs extends the company’s technology strategy by adding software that manages the repair process from service requests through equipment performance analysis, creating a more integrated maintenance ecosystem for restaurant operators.
