Cavallo Expands Business Central With Pricing, AI Tools

Cavallo has expanded its SalesPad platform for Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, adding new tools for pricing automation, document routing and artificial intelligence-powered customer intelligence aimed at wholesale distributors.

The Grand Rapids, Michigan-based software provider introduced Advanced Pricing, Smart Printing and Customer IQ, three applications designed to help distributors automate complex business processes, improve pricing consistency, and provide sales teams with real-time customer insights.

The enhancements reflect a broader trend among software providers developing distribution-specific applications that extend the capabilities of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, one of the fastest-growing enterprise resource planning (ERP) platforms among small and midsized distributors.

Although Business Central provides core ERP functionality, many distributors require additional capabilities to manage customer-specific pricing agreements, approval workflows, inventory allocation, and other operational processes unique to wholesale distribution. SalesPad is designed to provide those capabilities without requiring extensive software customization.

The new Advanced Pricing application automates pricing decisions by applying configurable business rules, customer agreements, margin thresholds, and approval workflows to each order. The software also provides visibility into how prices are calculated and can automatically update pricing as product costs change.

Pricing automation has become a growing priority for distributors as tariffs, supplier price increases and fluctuating costs place greater pressure on margins.

Cavallo also introduced Smart Printing, which automates document routing throughout the order fulfillment process. Instead of relying on employees to determine which documents should accompany each order, distributors can establish rules that automatically route pick tickets, packing slips, compliance documents and customer-specific inserts based on predefined business criteria.

The company said the application is intended to reduce administrative work, minimize document errors and improve warehouse efficiency.

The third addition, Customer IQ, uses artificial intelligence to analyze customer activity and identify revenue risks, profitability trends, and sales opportunities. The application continuously evaluates customer behavior and embeds turnover risk scores, profitability metrics, and other insights directly within the SalesPad workflow, enabling sales teams to identify at-risk accounts and growth opportunities without relying on separate reporting tools.

In addition to the three new applications, Cavallo said the release adds support for Business Central service documents within its Mission Control workflow platform and introduces new reservation reassignment capabilities designed to provide greater flexibility in inventory allocation and order fulfillment.

The release is part of Cavallo’s broader strategy to build software specifically for wholesale distribution. Along with SalesPad, the company offers its Profit Max Platform, which combines pricing optimization and AI-driven customer intelligence to help distributors improve profitability and automate operational decision-making.
