Why This Matters to Distributors: The acquisition expands Tavoron’s automation distribution footprint and technical capabilities while highlighting continued consolidation in the industrial automation market. As manufacturers invest in factory automation, distributors are using acquisitions to broaden product portfolios, engineering expertise, and regional coverage.
Tavoron has acquired Fluidraulics Inc., an automation components and systems distributor serving Pennsylvania and Ohio, expanding its motion control and fluid power capabilities while extending its reach into the Pittsburgh and Cleveland markets.
Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
The acquisition is Tavoron’s fifth add-on acquisition since partnering with private equity firm Fusion Capital Partners and further expanding the company’s automation distribution platform.
Founded in 1967, Fluidraulics distributes pneumatic automation products and systems for industrial and medical customers across Pennsylvania and Ohio. Its portfolio includes air cylinders, actuators, grippers, valves, fittings, sensors and filter, regulator, and lubricator (FRL) products, along with application engineering and technical support.
The company serves customers from operations supporting the Pittsburgh and Cleveland metropolitan areas.
The acquisition broadens Tavoron’s automation portfolio by adding Fluidraulics’ fluid power expertise, technical resources, and supplier relationships. The combined company will provide manufacturers, original equipment manufacturers, and industrial facilities with a broader range of automation products and engineering services.
“Fluidraulics brings more than five decades of fluid power expertise, longstanding vendor relationships and a strong reputation for service,” Tavoron CEO Nicholas Martin said. “This acquisition expands our automation components and systems portfolio and strengthens our presence in the Pennsylvania and Ohio markets.”
Fluidraulics CEO Paul Hodge said the acquisition gives customers access to a broader portfolio of technologies, services and engineering resources while maintaining the company’s existing customer support model.
Fluidraulics will continue operating in the Pittsburgh and Cleveland markets, retaining its employees, vendor relationships, and customer service operations as it integrates into Tavoron’s automation distribution business.
Headquartered in Eagan, Minnesota, Tavoron provides industrial automation, robotics, compressed air, motion control, and engineered systems throughout North America. The company comprises 14 operating businesses and employs approximately 450 people across the United States and Canada.
The transaction continues the steady consolidation of the industrial automation distribution market, where distributors are expanding through acquisitions to add technical expertise, strengthen regional coverage and meet growing demand for integrated automation solutions.
