Why This Matters to Distributors: Avnet’s results provide another sign that the electronics distribution market has moved beyond the inventory correction that weighed on the industry over the past two years. Broad-based sales growth across regions and business units suggests improving demand from industrial manufacturers and original equipment manufacturers, while highlighting the value of distributors with global sourcing, inventory management, and supply chain capabilities.
Avnet Inc. reported record fourth-quarter and full-year fiscal 2026 results Aug. 5, as demand strengthened across its global electronic components business and its Farnell distribution unit.
The Phoenix-based technology distributor reported fourth-quarter sales of $8.30 billion, up 47.7% from $5.62 billion a year earlier. Net income rose to $126.6 million, compared with $6.1 million in the prior-year quarter.
For the fiscal year ending June 27, Avnet reported sales of $27.63 billion, up 24.5% from $22.20 billion in fiscal 2025. Full-year net income increased 39.2% to $334.4 million from $240.2 million a year earlier.
“Our fourth-quarter results underscore the strength of Avnet’s business model and the impact of our disciplined execution and long-term strategy,” says CEO Phil Gallagher. “Momentum continues to build across all regions, end markets and customer segments.”
Growth was widespread throughout the company’s operations.
Electronic Components, Avnet’s largest business, generated record quarterly sales of $7.80 billion, up 49.0% from a year earlier. Farnell, the company’s high-service distribution business, reported record sales of $500.1 million, an increase of 29.4%.
All geographic regions posted double-digit gains. Sales increased 55.3% in the Americas, 43.7% in Europe, the Middle East and Africa, and 46.3% in Asia from the prior-year quarter.
Looking ahead, Avnet projected continued momentum. The company forecasts first-quarter fiscal 2027 sales of $9.0 billion to $9.3 billion, with a midpoint of $9.15 billion, representing about 10% sequential growth from the fourth quarter. The outlook assumes sales growth across all Electronic Components regions and the Farnell business.
Avnet’s results add to growing evidence that demand is recovering across the global electronics supply chain after an extended period of customer inventory reductions. The company’s broad-based growth across product categories, geography and customer segments suggests purchasing activity is strengthening as industrial production, manufacturing and technology markets continue to improve.
