Why This Matters to Distributors: TIPCO Technologies is adding gasket production capacity in Maryland, Texas, and New York, expanding its ability to manufacture sealing products regionally for industrial customers.
TIPCO Technologies is expanding its gasket manufacturing operations with new equipment in Maryland and Texas and additional production capacity in New York.
The industrial distributor has installed gasket-cutting equipment at facilities in Glen Burnie, Maryland, and Corpus Christi, Texas. TIPCO also is moving additional gasket-cutting equipment to Rochester, New York, to increase production capacity in the Northeast.
The additions give TIPCO gasket and sealing operations in Maryland, New York, Texas, Oregon, and California. The company said the investments are intended to move production closer to customers and provide additional capacity for custom and replacement gaskets.
“Customers are increasingly looking for sealing partners that can provide both local responsiveness and national scale,” Chief commercial officer Ryan Gocher said. “These investments allow us to produce custom sealing solutions closer to our customers while leveraging the expertise and resources of our entire network.”
TIPCO’s gasket manufacturing capabilities include laser, flash, waterjet and die cutting; die stamping; lathe cutting; reverse engineering; computer-aided design; and field measurements. The company also provides gasket inventory management services.
Products manufactured and supplied through the network include rubber, compressed fiber, PTFE, flexible graphite, spiral wound, and heat exchanger gaskets, as well as packing products, expansion joints, O-rings, and isolation kits.
TIPCO works with sealing product manufacturers including Garlock, Teadit and American Biltrite. The company serves industrial and municipal customers as well as original equipment manufacturers and customers in aerospace, defense, and water treatment.
Several of TIPCO’s sealing operations hold industry certifications, including ISO 9001:2015 and AS9100D. The company also has operations with International Traffic in Arms Regulations registration and NSF/ANSI/CAN 61 certification. Its Glen Burnie operation is certified to manufacture NSF 61 cut gaskets for drinking water and water treatment applications.
TIPCO co-CEO Rob Lyons said the equipment additions are part of the company’s strategy to add manufacturing capabilities and related products to its distribution operations.
TIPCO provides fluid conveyance and sealing products, hose assemblies, industrial supplies, and inventory management services. The company operates in more than 40 locations across 16 states and employs more than 500 people.
