Why This Matters to Distributors: Veritronics is entering the automatic identification and data capture market with a portfolio spanning barcode scanning, RFID, mobile computing, industrial coding, and traceability. The new distributor will serve channel partners and end users through manufacturing, warehousing, logistics, packaging, and distribution.
Veritronics launched Aug. 27 as a new North American distributor of automatic identification and data capture technology, with a focus on barcode scanning, mobile computing, RFID, industrial coding, and product traceability.
The Atlanta-based company said it will distribute and support technology used to identify, capture and track products and materials across manufacturing, warehousing, logistics, packaging, and distribution operations.
Veritronics’ portfolio includes barcode scanners, mobile computers, wearable devices, fixed-mount data capture systems, and RFID technology, as well as industrial coding and marking systems used for compliance and traceability.
The company is launching with technology from Newland AIDC, FlexPackPRO and illumex. Veritronics is the exclusive North American representative for Newland AIDC’s industrial product line, according to the company.
Veritronics did not disclose revenue, employee count, investment in the business or details about its physical distribution network.
The company said it was founded by AIDC industry veterans who saw an opportunity to compete with established providers by pairing technology distribution with more direct technical and customer support.
“We created Veritronics because we saw a gap in the market,” said Tim O’Connor, director of channel sales and service at Veritronics. “The technology was there, but the service wasn’t. Customers are tired of slow responses, endless handoffs, and feeling like just another account number. We knew there was a better way to do it.”
Veritronics said its customer base will include channel partners, independent software vendors, and end users.
Newland AIDC’s industrial product line gives the distributor offerings in barcode scanning, RFID, mobile computing, wearable devices, and fixed-mount data capture. FlexPackPRO and illumex add coding, marking, compliance and traceability technology to the portfolio.
Those technologies are aimed at applications ranging from warehouse inventory tracking and barcode scanning to manufacturing traceability, packaging-line coding and logistics operations.
“The industry doesn’t need another distributor,” O’Connor said. “It needs a partner who will pick up the phone, knows the technology, and doesn’t disappear once the purchase order is signed. That’s the company we’re building.”
Veritronics also launched its website Aug. 27 with information about its products, manufacturer relationships and resources for channel partners, software providers, and end users.
The company did not identify its founders in the announcement beyond describing them as industry veterans. It also did not disclose the size of its sales organization or provide details about warehouses, inventory levels, or other distribution facilities.
