Specialty Building Products Names Former NAPA Finance Chief CFO

Why This Matters to Distributors: Specialty Building Products is adding a finance executive with experience in overseeing acquisitions, real estate, and financial planning at NAPA North America. His background spans distribution and manufacturing, bringing experience relevant to managing growth and integrating acquired businesses.

Specialty Building Products has named Alejandro Bisogno chief financial officer, effective immediately, hiring the former NAPA North America finance chief to support its next stage of growth.

The Duluth, Georgia-based specialty building materials distributor announced the appointment Oct. 20. Bisogno has more than 25 years of financial experience, including leadership roles at NAPA, aluminum producer Novelis and Ford Motor Co.

As executive vice president and CFO of NAPA North America, Bisogno oversaw finance, mergers and acquisitions, and real estate. He also helped lead an initiative to improve forecasting, reporting, expense management and coordination between finance and operating teams, according to Specialty Building Products.

President and CEO Jeff McLendon cited Bisogno’s financial expertise and leadership experience as reasons for the appointment. The company did not identify a predecessor or announce specific growth initiatives tied to his hiring.

Before joining NAPA, Bisogno held several leadership positions at Novelis, which he joined in 2010 as senior manager of corporate finance and treasury. His subsequent roles included assistant treasurer, vice president of finance for Asia, and vice president of global financial planning and analysis.

He was named vice president of finance for Novelis North America in 2023. During his tenure at Novelis, he helped lead a refinancing of the company’s debt and integrate a multibillion-dollar acquisition into its global financial planning, according to the announcement.

Bisogno previously spent nine years at Ford, working in financial planning and analysis, treasury, and pension asset management in South America and at the automaker’s global headquarters.

“SBP has continually achieved new levels of success through the dedication, collaboration, and hard work of its people,” Bisogno said in the announcement. “I am honored to join the organization at such an exciting time and contribute to its next phase of growth.”

Specialty Building Products supplies dealers and retailers serving repair, remodeling, and new construction markets, as well as industrial customers and original equipment manufacturers. Its services include manufacturing, assembly, customization, finishing, and logistics.

Bisogno holds an MBA from Michigan State University and a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Mercer University.
