Why This Matters to Distributors: Staples Canada is combining workplace supplies, technology and services with purchasing tools and account support. The offer strengthens its bid for business customers seeking fewer suppliers and simpler ordering.
Staples Canada introduced Staples Business on Oct. 19, bringing workplace products, services, and purchasing support under one brand for customers ranging from entrepreneurs to large enterprises.
The Richmond Hill, Ontario-based company, said the offering combines technology, furniture, facilities supplies, printing and marketing services. It also provides centralized purchasing, next-day delivery and support from account representatives and product specialists.
Customers can choose between two programs. Business Preferred serves smaller businesses seeking everyday savings, while Business Professional provides customized purchasing, personalized pricing, consolidated invoicing, and dedicated account support.
Staples Canada said the brand is intended to simplify purchasing for organizations juggling multiple suppliers, ordering systems and invoices. Its target customers include schools, health care facilities, construction businesses, corporate offices, and professional services firms.
Technology is its fastest-growing category among business customers, the company said, citing spending on productivity, collaboration, and flexible working arrangements. It did not disclose sales or growth figures.
