Federal Signal Corporation, Downers Grove, Ill. (NYSE: FSS), an environmental and safety solutions company, has acquired Standard Equipment Company, a distributor of specialty maintenance and infrastructure equipment for municipal and industrial markets.

The initial purchase price was $38.8 million.
