Why This Matters to Distributors: PrimeSource Brands is expanding further into plumbing and decorative building products with its 12th acquisition since 2020. JACLO adds products sold through plumbing wholesalers, showrooms, and home improvement retailers, extending PrimeSource’s reach into both the professional plumbing trade and decorative bath market.
PrimeSource Brands has acquired JACLO Industries, adding a plumbing products business that sells through wholesalers, decorative plumbing showrooms, and home improvement retailers across North America.
Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
The deal marks PrimeSource’s 12th acquisition since Clearlake Capital Group invested in the company in December 2020 and continues its expansion beyond construction fasteners into a broader range of specialty building products.
Cranford, New Jersey-based JACLO, formally Durst Corp., manufactures and distributes decorative bath fixtures and functional plumbing products under the JACLO and Durst brands.
The JACLO line includes shower systems, faucets, grab bars, drains and bath accessories in more than 35 finishes. Durst supplies products for plumbing wholesalers and professional contractors, including valves, fittings, drainage products, and water supply and heating components.
Founded in 1901, JACLO assembles, inspects, and packages its products at its New Jersey facility.
PrimeSource will add JACLO to its Dimora Brands platform, which includes Top Knobs, Hardware Resources, Atlas Homewares, Watermark Designs and Water Street Brass. The combination expands PrimeSource’s assortment for plumbing showrooms and designers while adding products sold through the professional plumbing channel.
The acquisition continues a series of deals by PrimeSource under Clearlake ownership.
In August, PrimeSource acquired Starborn Industries, a supplier of branded fasteners and installation systems for decking and other exterior applications. Starborn was PrimeSource’s 11th acquisition since Clearlake’s investment.
PrimeSource now carries more than 100,000 products across categories that include construction fasteners, knobs and pulls, fencing and railing, and functional hardware. The Irving, Texas-based company serves more than 56,000 customer locations through 64 sites in 26 states and two countries.
JACLO extends that portfolio further into plumbing and decorative bath products while adding an established sales channel through plumbing wholesalers and showrooms.
“The acquisition of JACLO extends PrimeSource’s position in decorative bath hardware by adding complementary products and an established brand,” Clearlake managing director Ben Kruger said.
PrimeSource did not disclose JACLO’s annual revenue, number of employees or other financial details.
