The moves increase the company’s reach in key construction markets while reinforcing the industry’s focus on local service, contractor relationships, and market density.
ABC Supply Co. is expanding its footprint in the Midwest, South and Mountain West through a combination of acquisition and new branch openings.
The building products distributor has acquired the assets of Koch Building Products, a family-owned distributor in Sandusky, Ohio, and opened four new locations in Texas, Utah, and Wisconsin.
Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
Founded in 1952, Koch Building Products has served contractors and builders in northern Ohio for more than 70 years. The company distributes windows, doors, siding, patio covers and enclosures, awnings, railings, and related exterior building products.
The Sandusky location at 1615 E. Perkins Ave. will continue operating as an ABC Supply branch. All employees will remain with the business, and Jill Hartley, who leads Koch Building Products and is the daughter of owner Randy Koch, will remain during the transition period.
The acquisition strengthens ABC Supply’s presence along Ohio’s Lake Erie shoreline and expands its contractor customer base in northern Ohio.
Separately, ABC Supply opened new branches in Laredo and Mesquite, Texas; Sandy, Utah; and Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin.
The Laredo branch is managed by Javier Puerta, who joined ABC Supply in 2021 as an outside sales representative in San Antonio. The Mesquite location is led by Kevin Culwell, who joined the company in 2022 and previously worked at its Garland, Texas, branch.
In Utah, the Sandy branch is managed by Nicolas Vazquez, who joined ABC Supply in 2023 and previously served in delivery services and outside sales roles. The Wisconsin Rapids location is led by Tyler Jensen, who has held positions in warehouse operations, delivery services, inside sales and branch support since joining the company in 2020.
The expansion adds coverage in several growing construction markets, including South Texas and the Dallas-Fort Worth area, while increasing ABC Supply’s presence in Utah and central Wisconsin.
ABC Supply is North America’s largest wholesale distributor of roofing products and distributes siding, windows, gutters, and other exterior and interior building materials through a network of locations across the United States and Canada.
The announcements come as building products distributors continue pursuing acquisitions and branch openings to expand market coverage, increase contractor access and strengthen local service capabilities.
