Why This Matters to Distributors: White Cap continues to use acquisitions to expand its geographic reach and strengthen its position in specialty construction distribution. The deal increases competition in the Midwest while broadening White Cap’s offerings in concrete accessories, equipment rentals, and contractor services.
White Cap has signed a definitive agreement to acquire the business of Gierke Robinson Co. Inc., a regional distributor of concrete accessories, tools, equipment, rentals, and repair services, further expanding its presence in the Midwest.
Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
Founded in 1919, Gierke Robinson serves concrete, paving, and general contractors throughout eastern Iowa, western Illinois, and southwest Wisconsin. The company operates four Iowa locations in Davenport, Bettendorf, Dubuque, and Waterloo.
The acquisition will expand White Cap’s footprint in the Midwest while strengthening its portfolio of products and services for professional contractors.
“Gierke Robinson has built an exceptional reputation as a construction equipment expert over more than a century,” White Cap CEO Alan Sollenberger said in a statement. “We are excited to welcome their associates to the White Cap family and expand our ability to serve customers in a growing Midwestern market.”
Gierke Robinson owner Terry Kilburg said the acquisition will provide customers with access to a broader range of products and services while preserving the company’s longstanding commitment to customer service.
