Why This Matters to Distributors: UK-based fastener and precision components distributor Accu has established its first U.S. distribution center, opening a 10,000-square-foot facility in Indianapolis as it expands its North American operations.
Accu has opened its first U.S. distribution center, establishing a 10,000-square-foot operation in Indianapolis to support its expansion in North America.
The Huddersfield, England-based distributor supplies precision fasteners and engineering components used by manufacturers and engineers in industries including aerospace, automotive, electronics, robotics, medical technology, and general manufacturing. Its product range includes screws, bolts, nuts, washers, spacers, pins, rivets, retaining rings, and other precision components.
Founded in 2012, Accu says it offers more than 500,000 standard products and has served customers in more than 125 countries. The company also provides custom manufacturing for components produced from customer drawings, computer-aided design models, and other specifications.
The Indianapolis facility gives Accu its first U.S. distribution operation as the company looks to provide faster fulfillment and more localized support for North American customers.
Accu also named Gio Cespedes managing director of Accu Components U.S. to oversee the company’s North American growth.
“I’m excited to join Accu Components at such a pivotal moment as we scale our North American operations,” Cespedes said in the company’s announcement.
Accu said Indiana’s manufacturing base and access to industries including automotive, electrical, and heavy machinery were factors in establishing the operation in the state.
The company’s U.S. website lists its operation at 501 Pennsylvania Parkway, Suite 160, in Indianapolis. Accu’s delivery information also identifies the location as its Indianapolis warehouse.
Accu CEO Dan Jack said Cespedes will play a key role in the company’s U.S. expansion. The company did not disclose its investment in the Indianapolis facility; the number of employees working there or plans for additional U.S. distribution centers.Do not miss any content from Distribution Strategy Group.
