Accurate Meter & Supply has acquired The Stiles Company, a Massachusetts-based distributor of water meters and waterworks products serving municipal utilities across New England, the companies announced Monday.
Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
The acquisition expands Accurate Meter & Supply’s geographic footprint into the Northeast, adding a distributor with more than 40 years of experience supplying water metering systems and waterworks products to municipal customers.
Founded in 1983 and based in Norwood, Massachusetts, Stiles distributes mechanical and electronic water meters for residential, commercial and industrial applications, along with waterworks products including valves, fittings, couplings and clamps. The company also provides large-meter field testing and technical support services.
Ian and Katie Kasowitz, who acquired the business from its founding family in 2020, will continue to lead Stiles and remain with the company following the acquisition.
The transaction will allow Stiles to expand its product portfolio, invest in additional sales resources and continue serving its existing municipal utility customers.
Accurate Meter & Supply, headquartered in Katy, Texas, distributes water, sewer and drainage products for municipal, residential and commercial infrastructure markets. Its product portfolio includes meter systems, pipe, valves and fittings, fire protection equipment, hydrants, manholes, meter boxes and backflow prevention devices. The company also provides services including leak detection, flow testing, meter services and precast vault fabrication.
The acquisition strengthens Accurate’s position in the municipal water infrastructure market by adding Stiles’ established customer relationships and technical expertise in New England.
The transaction is the latest in a series of acquisitions across the waterworks distribution sector as distributors expand geographically and add specialized service capabilities to support municipal infrastructure investment.
