The Producer Price Index for final demand rose 0.6% in February, seasonally adjusted, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reported. Final demand prices increased 0.3% in January and edged down 0.1% in December 2023.

On an unadjusted basis, the index for final demand rose 1.6% for the 12 months ended February 2024.
In February, nearly two-thirds of the advance in the index for final demand can be traced to
a 1.2% rise in prices for final demand goods. The index for final demand services increased 0.3%.
The index for final demand less foods, energy and trade services rose 0.4% in
February 2024 after rising 0.6% in January, the largest advance since moving up 1.8% in September 2023. For the 12 months ended February 2024, prices for final demand less foods, energy and trade services increased 2.8%.
