PGW Auto Glass has acquired Windshield Surgeons, an Alberta-based automotive glass distributor and installer, expanding its distribution and service network in Canada.
Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
The acquisition strengthens PGW’s presence in Western Canada and adds Windshield Surgeons’ automotive glass installation and advanced driver assistance systems calibration capabilities to the company’s wholesale distribution business.
“Windshield Surgeons is a strong strategic fit for PGW as we continue to grow our Canadian business,” CEOTodd Fencak said.
PGW said the acquisition supports its strategy of expanding in Canada while maintaining its U.S. focus on wholesale distribution. The combined operation will serve automotive glass installers, collision repair shops, insurers, fleet operators and original equipment manufacturer dealerships throughout Alberta.
Windshield Surgeons has built an established presence in Alberta, where it provides automotive glass replacement, repair and calibration services.
Based in Cranberry Township, Pennsylvania, PGW Auto Glass operates more than 160 distribution, installation, calibration and paint branches across the United States and Canada. The company distributes automotive replacement glass, specialty parts, shop supplies and related business technology solutions to automotive aftermarket customers. PGW is a portfolio company with private equity firm One Equity Partners.
The acquisition is the latest example of consolidation in the automotive aftermarket distribution industry, as distributors expand regional footprints and add service capabilities to strengthen customer relationships and broaden their product offerings.
