Why This Matters to Distributors: Winsupply plans to establish local businesses in Greater Philadelphia, combining local ownership and inventory with national supplier relationships and financial support. The initiative could provide a model for expanding into other major metropolitan markets, increasing competition for plumbing, HVAC, and industrial piping business.
Winsupply Inc. has hired former Ferguson executive Ken Resuta to lead a Greater Philadelphia expansion that the distributor plans to use as a model for growth in other major U.S. metropolitan markets.
Resuta, whose appointment as regional development manager, took effect Sept. 28, will initially focus on establishing local companies serving residential and commercial contractors. The businesses will supply plumbing, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning equipment, hydronics, and pipe, valves, and fittings, Winsupply said in an Oct.
The company said the Philadelphia initiative would become a blueprint for other metropolitan markets once the approach is proven. It did not disclose planned locations, opening dates, investment amounts, or the number of businesses it expects to establish.
“After 35 years in wholesale distribution, you rarely get the chance to reshape a market from the ground up with a model like this,” Resuta said. “What excites me most is Winsupply’s true commitment to local decision-making and ownership.”

Resuta will work with Steve Coen, director of talent and strategic acquisitions, and the Winsupply Local Company Group to increase market share in major metropolitan areas. The strategy centers on establishing independent Winsupply local companies supported by the organization’s national resources.
“Backed by the financial strength of a national powerhouse, our local teams are empowered to control their own destiny and serve contractors with unmatched speed and agility,” Resuta said.
Resuta spent 35 years at Ferguson, beginning as a warehouse and sales trainee before moving into sales leadership. He most recently served as senior general manager from 2025 to 2026 and district vice president from 2020 to 2025, according to Winsupply.
His responsibilities included financial performance, sales growth, real estate planning, vendor relations, and market expansion across parts of Pennsylvania, Delaware, New Jersey, New York, and Maryland. Winsupply said he also integrated several acquisitions during that period.
“Ken brings a rare combination of deep industry expertise and proven growth leadership,” said Rob Ferguson, president of the Winsupply Local Company Group. “He is precisely the leader we need to drive our presence forward in key metropolitan markets like Greater Philadelphia.”
Resuta, who lives in the Philadelphia area, said the expansion would bring Winsupply’s national vendor relationships and product selection to contractors through locally stocked inventory. He emphasized service and customer relationships as priorities for the new businesses.
“At the end of the day, this business is about people, inventory, and service,” Resuta said. “Contractors want simplicity, ease of doing business, and a team they know and trust.”
