Building Controls & Solutions (BCS), a prominent distributor specializing in energy management, building automation, and gas detection products and services, has announced key changes to its executive leadership team. The strategic appointments are intended to bolster the company’s growth trajectory and enhance its ability to serve customers and manufacturing partners across North America.
Christopher Wenaas has been promoted to chief operating officer (COO). In this role, Wenaas will lead operations at BCS’s 15 U.S. branch locations, overseeing sales and technical solutions teams. His primary focus will be on optimizing sales execution, improving profit margins, and ensuring operational consistency across the company’s U.S. operations.
Galen Riddle joins BCS as chief financial officer (CFO), bringing over two decades of financial leadership experience in distribution, manufacturing, and private equity-backed businesses. Most recently, Riddle served as vice president of finance at Hydradyne, where he played a key role in guiding the company through a successful acquisition. As CFO at BCS, Riddle will be responsible for overseeing financial strategy, performance analysis, and initiatives aimed at increasing earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization (EBITDA) across both the U.S. and Canada.
John Strawn, who joined BCS earlier this year as chief marketing and technology officer, will spearhead the company’s omni-channel strategy, digital innovation, and customer experience transformation. With previous leadership roles at Kele, ABB, and FedEx, Strawn has experience in digital marketing and customer-centric strategies, with a proven record of delivering tangible results.
These new appointments will work closely with Eric Chernik, the company’s chief executive officer. Chernik expressed confidence in the team’s ability to propel BCS forward: “This is an exciting time for Building Controls & Solutions. Our leadership team shares a bold vision for sustainable growth and operational excellence, and these changes further strengthen our ability to create value for our customers and vendor partners.”
