Tecum Equity and Armstrong Group Create Industrial Supply Platform SupplyCo

Tecum Equity Alpha Management and the Armstrong Group of Companies have formed a new industrial supply platform called SupplyCo, combining two long-standing western Pennsylvania distributors to expand technical service capabilities and product coverage across manufacturing, industrial, and field service markets.

The new company brings together the Huston Group, founded in 1899 and known for metal-removal tooling and fluid management products, and Gallaway Safety & Supply, a safety equipment specialist established in 2000. Leadership and employees from both companies will remain in place as the operations merge under the SupplyCo banner.

Stephen Gurgovits, managing partner at Tecum, said the new platform is aimed at addressing customers’ growing need for dependable, technically supported products. “Through our experience operating and investing in manufacturing businesses, we understand the importance of these essential products to our customers’ operations,” Gurgovits said. He added that Tecum is backing the company’s next stage of growth through expanded product offerings, more inventory management solutions, and additional technical sales and application engineering hires, while also evaluating acquisition opportunities.

Armstrong Group CEO Dru Sedwick said the partnership aligns with the family-owned company’s long-term investment philosophy. “At Armstrong, we believe in ‘growth and perpetuity,’ and we see this mantra in our partnership with SupplyCo,” Sedwick said. He cited the strength of domestic manufacturing and SupplyCo’s role in supporting operators across the region.

SupplyCo will focus on technical sales support and engineering solutions, aiming to build a broader product line that spans safety, tooling, abrasives, metalworking, and industrial consumables. The company plans to launch a new brand identity in early 2026.

Tecum and Armstrong said the platform is expected to grow both organically and through potential acquisitions, positioning SupplyCo as a future consolidator in the fragmented industrial supply market.
