Why It Matters to Distributors: Consolidation continues to reshape regional construction supply markets, with scale, contractor relationships and logistics capabilities becoming critical competitive differentiators.
SouthernCarlson has acquired Greenwald Supply Direct, a Hyattsville, Maryland-based distributor of construction and building products, expanding its footprint in the Mid-Atlantic.
Terms were not disclosed.
Greenwald Supply Direct supplies concrete, masonry and general contractors with building materials, safety products, and job site supplies across the region. The company will continue operating under its existing name.
SouthernCarlson distributes fasteners, tools, packaging, and construction supplies to commercial, industrial, and residential customers.
The deal follows SouthernCarlson’s acquisition earlier this year by private equity firm Truelink Capital, which has signaled plans to grow the business through additional acquisitions.
Chief Executive Andrei Militaru said the companies have complementary service models, while founder David Greenwald said the deal will expand product access and supply chain capabilities.
The transaction reflects continued consolidation as distributors seek broader assortments and stronger logistics networks.
