Baldwin Supply Co. has acquired Construction & Aggregate Products Inc., adding locations in Iowa and Kansas as the privately held industrial distributor moves to increase its regional coverage and service capabilities. The acquisition was effective Dec. 29. Financial terms were not disclosed.
Baldwin, based in Plymouth, Minnesota, specializes in power transmission, conveyor belting, bearings, motors, pumps, and industrial automation products used in OEM and maintenance, repair, and operations environments. The company serves customers in food and beverage, manufacturing, aggregate, agriculture, packaging, and materials handling. It operates branches across Minnesota, Wisconsin, Iowa, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Nebraska.
Construction & Aggregate Products, known as CAP, distributes equipment and components to the aggregate, mining, and construction sectors. The business operates locations in Des Moines, Iowa, and Lenexa, Kansas.
In a statement, Baldwin Supply president Rob LaRue said the purchase strengthens the company’s position in core industrial markets and provides a platform for further investment.
CAP president Dana Raley said the deal preserves the company’s relationship-driven approach while adding greater scale in product access, services, and operational support.
“Construction & Aggregate Products has always been built around strong relationships with our customers and our employees,” Raley said. “Joining Baldwin Supply allows us to preserve what makes CAP special while gaining the scale, resources, and opportunities of a larger organization. I’m confident this move positions our customers for continued success and opens new doors for our team members.”
Baldwin said the acquisition aligns with its focus on customers that require technical support, localized service, and engineered solutions. The company has expanded in recent years through investments in conveyor belt production facilities in Fridley, Minnesota; Appleton, Wisconsin; and Sioux Falls, South Dakota, alongside the growth of its service teams.
Founded in 1920, Baldwin Supply remains privately owned. The company said it plans to continue pursuing strategic opportunities in the Midwest as industrial customers consolidate supplier relationships and seek distributors with broader capabilities across product, service, and technical support.
