Why This Matters to Distributors: ADI is investing in digital commerce, exclusive brands, acquisitions and higher-growth markets to expand its business after becoming an independent company. The strategy reflects where one of North America’s largest low-voltage distributors expects future growth across security, fire/life safety, data communications and professional audiovisual markets.
ADI Global Distribution on Tuesday outlined its strategy as an independent company, setting a goal of approximately $6 billion in annual sales by 2030 as it prepares to complete its separation from Resideo Technologies next month.
The specialty distributor presented its plans during its inaugural Investor Day at the New York Stock Exchange, where executives said the planned Aug. 3 spin-off remains on schedule. ADI shares are expected to begin trading on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker symbol ADIG on Aug. 4, subject to completion of the separation.
ADI said it expects annual sales to grow between 4% and 6% by 2030, reaching approximately $6 billion.
The company said it plans to grow faster than the overall market by expanding its digital commerce platform, increasing sales of exclusive brands, adding value-added services and expanding in professional audiovisual and data communications markets. ADI also plans to continue acquiring smaller distributors and expects operational improvements to reduce annual operating costs by more than $80 million by the end of 2027.
ADI estimates the North American market for its products at $65 billion. The company said it will continue to focus on its leadership positions in security, fire/life safety and residential audiovisual distribution while targeting continued growth in digital sales.
The spin-off will create a publicly traded company focused exclusively on distributing professionally installed low-voltage products for commercial and residential markets. ADI distributes more than 500,000 products from more than 1,000 suppliers through its omnichannel network of branches and digital channels.
