Why This Matters to Distributors: The deal gives Portland Bolt a larger East Coast presence and additional capacity to supply construction distributors with custom fasteners and fabricated steel products, while connecting the Charlotte operation with the company’s growing manufacturing and galvanizing network.
Portland Bolt & Manufacturing Co. has acquired Threadline Products Inc., expanding its distribution and manufacturing presence in the Southeast and adding a Charlotte, North Carolina, operation serving construction distributors, steel fabricators, and transportation customers.
Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
Threadline manufactures custom anchor bolts, threaded rod, and fabricated structural steel products, including embeds, plates, lintels, pipe bollards, and smooth dowels. The company serves construction distributors, steel fabricators, and state departments of transportation.
Portland Bolt said it will retain Threadline’s employees and continue operating the Charlotte facility. The business will be renamed Portland Bolt Charlotte in the coming weeks.
The acquisition gives Portland Bolt another distribution point on the East Coast and expands its ability to produce and deliver custom products closer to customers in the Southeast. It also connects Threadline’s fabrication and threading capabilities with Portland Bolt’s hot-dip galvanizing operation in North Augusta, South Carolina.
“Combining Charlotte’s fabrication and threading capabilities with our in-house hot-dip galvanizing capacity in South Carolina allows us to keep more work within the Portland Bolt network, shorten lead times and offer customers a broader, more integrated solution,” CEO Blake Ray said.
Threadline co-owner Josh Miller will remain with the company during the transition.
Founded in 1984, Threadline expanded significantly in 2022 when it combined with Charlotte-based Atlantic Bolt. That deal nearly doubled its manufacturing and warehouse capacity before the companies consolidated operations at a single Charlotte location.
The acquisition continues Portland Bolt’s expansion of a national supply and production network serving construction and infrastructure markets.
In 2025, Portland Bolt acquired Bennett Bolt Works in Jordan, New York, a manufacturer of fasteners used in highway guardrail systems, bridge construction, and overhead sign structures. The company also acquired Applied Bolting Technology in Bellows Falls, Vermont, which manufactures direct tension indicating washers used in structural bolting applications.
Portland Bolt has also expanded its North Augusta facility from 25,000 square feet to 62,500 square feet, adding manufacturing and hot-dip galvanizing capacity in the Southeast.
With Threadline, Portland Bolt operates five facilities in Oregon, South Carolina, Vermont, New York, and North Carolina. Two of those locations have in-house hot-dip galvanizing operations.
The expanded footprint gives Portland Bolt additional regional inventory, fabrication, and processing capabilities as it serves distributors and customers in infrastructure, nonresidential construction, industrial and steel fabrication markets.
Portland Bolt was founded in 1912 and manufactures and distributes standard and custom construction fasteners, including anchor bolts, structural bolts and direct tension indicating washers. The company ships products to customers in more than 25 countries
