Why This Matters to Distributors: The board gives participating distributors another place to reach prospective employees and allows job seekers to compare openings and advertised pay across employers.
Proton.ai is launching a wholesale distribution job board that brings together openings at its customers and allows candidates to compare positions and advertised compensation.
The software company said Jobs in Distribution draws openings directly from employers’ career websites, with positions spanning sales, purchasing, information technology and branch leadership. Candidates apply through the employers’ original listings, keeping the application process with each hiring company.
The board displayed 282 openings at 14 distributors when reviewed, including listings linked to career sites for Aramsco, Benco Dental and MSC Industrial Supply. Those totals can change as employers update their postings.
“Our customers are hiring for jobs that people outside distribution might not think to look for,” said Benj Cohen, founder and CEO of Proton.ai.
The initial board covers a group of Proton customers, according to the company. It brings their openings into a single search, giving candidates a way to find employers beyond those whose career websites they already visit.
Candidates can filter positions by location and seniority, limit results to openings that disclose compensation and sort listings with the highest advertised pay. The board also groups published base pay by job function and seniority, with hourly and salaried positions displayed separately, according to the announcement.
The compensation comparisons reflect eligible listings on the board rather than a comprehensive survey of distribution pay. Individual postings may include commissions or other pay arrangements, making the underlying employer listing important when comparing positions.
Proton develops artificial intelligence software for wholesale distributors. Its announcement describes the job board as a recruiting resource but does not identify AI features used in the service.
