SRS to Acquire HVAC Distributor Mingledorff’s, Expanding Home Depot’s Pro Strategy

Why It Matters to Distributors: The deal underscores continued consolidation in HVAC distribution and rising competitive pressure as large players expand into specialty trade channels.

SRS Distribution, a subsidiary of The Home Depot, has entered into an agreement to acquire Mingledorff’s, expanding its presence in specialty trade distribution and adding HVAC as a new vertical.

Financial terms were not disclosed.

Mingledorff’s, founded in 1939 and based in Peachtree Corners, Georgia, distributes heating, ventilation and air conditioning equipment, parts, and supplies to residential and commercial contractors. The company operates 42 locations across five Southeastern states.

The acquisition extends the reach of SRS Distribution, which operates more than 1,250 locations across North America and focuses on roofing, building products, landscape, and pool supplies.

Home Depot CEO Ted Decker said in a statement that SRS continues to be a growth driver for the company and that the addition of Mingledorff’s will help build a broader platform in HVAC equipment and parts.

SRS CEO Dan Tinker said the deal will expand the company’s ability to serve contractors and provide a more complete product offering across construction and building markets.

Mingledorff’s CEO David Kesterton and the company’s leadership team are expected to remain in place following the acquisition.

Home Depot said HVAC distribution represents an approximately $100 billion market. The addition of Mingledorff’s is expected to increase the company’s total addressable market to about $1.2 trillion.

The transaction is expected to close in the second quarter of fiscal 2026, subject to regulatory approvals and customary closing conditions. Home Depot said it plans to fund the deal with cash on hand and debt.

The acquisition is part of Home Depot’s broader effort to expand its Pro business by combining retail operations, digital tools, and specialty distribution capabilities.
