Trinity Hunt Forms Industrial MRO Platform with Northline Acquisition

Why This Matters to Distributors: Private equity investment in industrial maintenance and repair continues to accelerate as manufacturers invest in automation and seek specialized service partners. Trinity Hunt’s strategy reflects a broader push to build national MRO platforms through acquisitions, creating larger service organizations with expanded technical capabilities and geographic reach.

Private equity firm Trinity Hunt Partners has entered the industrial maintenance, repair, and operations market with the formation of Steadpoint Industrial Services, using Northline Industrial as the foundation for a national growth platform.

Dallas-based Trinity Hunt announced July 30 that it acquired Detroit-based Northline Industrial, a provider of industrial repair, field services, outsourced repair, equipment sales, staffing and systems integration for manufacturers and distributors. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Founded in 2006, Northline operates five business units across Michigan, Indiana and North Carolina, providing repair and maintenance services for industrial, mechanical, and robotic equipment. The company serves more than 375 customers annually.

Trinity Hunt said it plans to expand Steadpoint through acquisitions of industrial MRO service providers across the United States while investing in sales, operations, and other initiatives to support long-term growth.

“The market for specialized industrial repair and maintenance services is large and highly fragmented, with meaningful benefits to scale,” Garrett Greer, a partner at Trinity Hunt. He said increasing investment in automation and advanced manufacturing is driving recurring demand for industrial MRO services and creating an opportunity to build a national platform.

Steadpoint will focus on companies that repair and maintain equipment supporting manufacturing and distribution operations. Trinity Hunt said the platform will provide operational support and shared resources while allowing acquired companies to maintain their local management teams, customer relationships, and company cultures.

Northline Co-Founder Chuck Baase said Trinity Hunt’s experience building service businesses made it the right partner for the company’s next phase of growth.

Steadpoint also named Courtney Pernat as chief financial officer and Ross Morgan as chief development officer to lead the platform’s expansion. Pernat previously served as chief financial officer at Summit Companies, while Morgan most recently led mergers and acquisitions at Mariani Premier Group.

The transaction follows a broader consolidation trend in industrial services as private equity firms assemble national platforms by acquiring regional maintenance and repair providers. Investors have increasingly targeted MRO companies that generate recurring revenue through equipment repair and field service while supporting manufacturers’ growing investments in automation, robotics, and advanced production technologies.
