Conexiom, a provider of AI-powered order automation software for manufacturers and distributors, has named Darren Bonnstetter as its new chief executive officer. He succeeds John McNeill, who is stepping down after overseeing a period of expansion and product innovation.
Bonnstetter brings more than two decades of experience in enterprise technology, most recently leading a climate-tech venture spun out of Google X. His background includes building AI-enabled platforms for industrial-scale automation, with a focus on streamlining operations and business transformation.
“Distributors and manufacturers are the backbone of global commerce,” Bonnstetter said in a statement. “Our goal is to help them operate with more speed, precision, and agility through AI-powered automation.”
The leadership change comes as Conexiom looks to scale its platform, which converts emailed and unstructured sales orders into digital transactions without manual intervention. Under McNeill’s tenure, the company launched new capabilities in AI-based order processing and performance optimization, aiming to improve order accuracy, reduce delivery errors, and address margin leakage.
McNeill, who joined the company in 2020, said Bonnstetter is “the right leader for what comes next,” citing his deep experience in AI and enterprise execution.
Conexiom says its platform is used by hundreds of manufacturers and 16 of the 20 largest industrial distributors in North America. The company is backed by private equity firms Luminate Capital Partners, Warburg Pincus, and ICONIQ Capital.
