Airtron Heating & Air Conditioning has appointed Steve Margolius as chief executive officer and Adnan Mughal as chief financial officer, a leadership change aimed at supporting the company’s next phase of growth following several acquisitions and its transition to an independent platform.
The Dallas-based HVAC installer, backed by private equity firm Gamut Capital Management, is positioning itself to scale nationally as demand for residential construction and home services remains elevated.
Michael Hanigan, a partner at Gamut, said the additions come “at a pivotal moment” as Airtron shifts from integration to growth mode. Former CEO Jeff Morrow will remain involved as an advisor to Gamut after leading the business through its separation from previous ownership.
Margolius brings more than three decades of experience across construction services and distribution. He most recently led Artisan Design Group, a nationwide provider of interior finishes to homebuilders, and previously served as CEO of Distribution International, a specialty insulation distributor. His earlier roles included leadership positions at HD Supply, Arrow Electronics and GE.
Mughal joins from Cherry Coatings, where he was CFO, and previously held the same role at Service Experts Heating & Air Conditioning, one of the largest home services providers in North America. He also held senior finance positions at BrightView Landscapes, SunEdison, and GE.
Airtron has expanded steadily since Gamut acquired the business in September 2024. The company has added locations through acquisitions including Sierra Air Conditioning in Nevada and Idaho, Viccarone Heating & Air Conditioning in Ohio and Illinois, and Sonoran Mechanical Systems in Arizona. It now operates in 19 locations across the country.
Founded in 1972, Airtron focuses on HVAC installation for residential new construction with a growing offering of maintenance and repair services supported by North American Technician Excellence-certified technicians. The company serves major homebuilding markets across Texas, the Midwest, Mid-Atlantic and West regions.
