Building Material Distributors Inc. (BMD) has opened a new engineered wood products (EWP) distribution facility in Riverside, California, expanding its reach into the Southern California construction market.
The new yard will supply lumber yards and framing contractors serving both single- and multi-family housing projects. BMD’s inventory will include I-joists and laminated veneer lumber (LVL) from Pacific Woodtech, treated LVL, glulam beams from QB Corp., and laminated strand lumber (LSL) from Tolko.
The company will handle deliveries using its own fleet of trucks and has added vehicles and drivers to support more frequent shipments across the region.
“This new location supports our goal of improving access to key engineered wood products in a high-demand market,” said Matt Blair, senior vice president of distribution at BMD. “We’re working with suppliers like Pacific Woodtech, Tolko, and QB Corp. to ensure regional dealers have the inventory needed for a range of residential projects.”
The expansion reflects growing demand for engineered lumber in areas facing labor constraints and stricter building codes, particularly in seismic and fire-prone zones like Southern California.
Headquartered in Galt, California, BMD is an employee-owned distributor that supplies a wide range of building materials including millwork, siding, and structural wood products.
