Capstone Green Energy Holdings has acquired Cal Microturbine, LLC, and its exclusive distribution territory, giving the company direct control of sales, service, and aftermarket support in California, Hawaii, Nevada, Oregon, and Washington. The operations will be managed under Capstone’s new business unit, Capstone West Territory (CWT).
Vince Canino, president and CEO of Capstone, said the acquisition strengthens the company’s connection with end users and positions it to meet growing demand for distributed energy solutions in the western U.S. “This strategic move allows us to build deeper customer relationships, expand our market share, and drive long-term growth,” Canino said.
The transition became effective August 13. Capstone said it is taking steps to ensure a smooth handover of operations, including continuity of sales, service, and technical support. A new sales leader for the territory will be announced in the coming weeks.
John Juric, chief financial officer, described the deal as a self-funded investment expected to improve earnings and cash flow. “Integrating these operations into Capstone will enhance operational efficiency and create lasting value for customers and shareholders,” Juric said.
Capstone, a clean technology company, has been developing microturbine solutions for four decades, shipping over 10,600 units to 88 countries. Its systems range from 65kW to multi-megawatt solutions for commercial, industrial, and utility-scale applications.
