Distributor Data Solutions (DDS), a Salt Lake City provider of product content and data management tools for the wholesale distribution industry, has launched a new app that connects its Acadia platform directly to BigCommerce, the ecommerce technology company.
The new “Acadia by DDS” app allows distributors and manufacturers to automatically synchronize product information—including images, technical specifications, and descriptions—from their DDS Acadia accounts into BigCommerce storefronts. The integration is designed to replace manual uploads, a common pain point for B2B sellers with large and frequently changing product catalogs.
Acadia consolidates DDS’s content delivery services into one platform and includes access to a library of more than 12.5 million SKUs from over 1,700 brands in industrial markets. The app also features artificial intelligence tools that classify and organize products to improve search results and online navigation. Target sectors include electrical, plumbing, HVACR, welding, industrial supply, and construction.
Matt Christensen, president of DDS, said the app is meant to cut time and cost from managing digital product content, while helping distributors keep online catalogs accurate. Lance Owide, general manager of B2B at BigCommerce, said the integration reflects the platform’s focus on tools for manufacturers and distributors as ecommerce becomes a larger share of their sales.
