GMS Sales Up 2.8% in Fiscal 2025 First Quarter

GMS Inc. (NYSE: GMS), Tucker, Ga., a North American specialty building products distributor, reported sales for the fiscal first quarter ended July 31, 2024, were $1.4 billion, up 2.8% from the first quarter of 2024. Organic sales decreased 2.2%.

First-quarter sales by category:   

  • Wallboard sales were $587.9 million, up 2.9%   
  • Ceilings sales were $207.2 million, up 18.2%   
  • Steel framing sales were $209.9 million, a decrease of 11.4%  
  • Complementary product sales were $443.5 million, up 4.1%   

 Recent acquisitions, including Howard & Son Building Materials Inc. and Yvon Building Supply, helped drive growth in all four major product categories. Year-over-year steel price deflation offset growth.  

Profit was $57.2 million for the first quarter.
