Graybar Launches New STAR Distribution Centers to Support Major Construction Projects

Graybar is adding new warehouse capacity in fast-growing U.S. markets, rolling out a series of facilities aimed at keeping major construction projects on schedule.

The distributor will introduce its first STAR Centers—short for Storage, Transport, and Readiness—in Reno, Dallas, and Atlanta. Together, the three locations will span about 500,000 square feet. The company expects to expand the program into additional metropolitan areas in the coming quarters, bringing its total distribution footprint to more than 16 million square feet.

The new centers are designed to handle the specialized demands of contractors building large and complex projects such as data centers, manufacturing plants, hospitals, and utility infrastructure. By positioning inventory closer to job sites, Graybar said it aims to reduce delays and provide more tailored delivery options.

“Graybar’s STAR Centers will provide the capacity and flexibility to deliver customized supply chain solutions for large construction projects such as data centers, manufacturing plants, healthcare facilities and utility infrastructure,” said Kathleen Mazzarella, the company’s chairman, president, and chief executive officer.

Mazzarella said the STAR program fits into Graybar’s broader strategy of modernizing its logistics network. “As we transform our business for the future, we are reimagining what’s possible across our nationwide footprint,” she said. “The STAR Center program is one example of Graybar’s investments in leading-edge technology and adaptable solutions to support our customers’ growth.”

The company said the centers will be integrated with its existing network of more than 350 distribution facilities across North America, creating what it calls a unified service platform. That structure links local, regional, and national warehouses to improve efficiency and responsiveness for contractors and other customers.

Based in St. Louis, Graybar is a Fortune 500 company and one of the largest employee-owned businesses in North America. It distributes electrical, industrial, automation, and connectivity products and provides related supply chain and logistics services.
