Heritage Pool Supply Group, Inc., a rapidly expanding distributor of pool and spa products, has appointed Scott Frost as its new president. The company announced the leadership change Tuesday as it continues a multi-year acquisition strategy that has added dozens of locations across the United States.
Frost brings more than 30 years of experience in the swimming pool industry and currently serves as chair-elect of the Pool & Hot Tub Alliance (PHTA), the U.S.-based trade association for the pool, spa, and hot tub sector. He replaces Matt McDermott, who was promoted earlier this year to president of the Heritage Family of Companies, overseeing both the pool and landscape divisions of SRS Distribution Inc., Heritage’s parent company. SRS Distribution was acquired by The Home Depot Inc. in June 2024.
Founded in 2021 and based in McKinney, Texas, Heritage Pool Supply Group is a large distributor of pool equipment, chemicals, and building materials. The company operates more than 150 locations across 36 states, according to company-provided data, and functions under a decentralized model that retains the identities and leadership of acquired firms.
The company has completed several acquisitions over the past 18 months:
- In March, Heritage acquired Modern Edge Stone & Tile, a Lake Havasu City, Arizona-based distributor of pool, spa, and outdoor-living materials. Founders Shane Fry and Danny Shevitski remained with the company post-acquisition, according to a Heritage press release.
- In October 2024, it entered the Hawaii market through the purchase of Island Pool & Spa Supply, which operates four locations across Oahu, Maui, the Big Island, and Kauai. The company retained owner Jim Frierson and general manager Robert Edge in leadership roles.
- In August 2024, it acquired Nucci Brothers Pool Supplies, with branches in Islandia, New York, and Bridgeport, Connecticut. Co-owner Rob DeMeo continued in a leadership role, Heritage said in its August 15, 2024, announcement.
- In November 2023, the company bought Recreonics, Inc., a Louisville, Kentucky-based supplier focused on commercial and institutional pool equipment. Founded in 1965, Recreonics was led by the Garland family prior to the acquisition.
- In December 2021, Heritage made one of its largest moves by acquiring AquaCentral, which included Florida Water Products and other regional distributors like Bel-Aqua, Hachik, and Noble Tile. The deal brought in more than 85 locations across 21 states.
Frost said he was drawn to Heritage’s operating model and company culture. “Heritage has built a very special company under a unique set of cultural values and philosophies,” Frost said in a statement.
Heritage will continue to pursue acquisition targets and expand its national footprint, the company said.
