Houchens Industries, Inc., of Bowling Green, Ky., has acquired H.H. Barnum Company, a distributor of controls for factory and warehouse automation.

The acquisition adds more than 300 employees serving 5,000 customers across Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky, Tennessee, Alabama and North and South Carolina.
With annual revenue of more than $4 billion, Houchens Industries is one of the largest employee-owned companies in the U.S., with more than 13 operating companies in retail, manufacturing, distribution, construction and insurance.
