Privately-owned housing units authorized in April 2023 were down 1.5% from March and 21.1% from the prior-year period, according to the U.S. Census Bureau. Single-family authorizations in April were up 3.1% from March.
In April, privately-owned housing completions were down 10.4% from March but up 1% from the prior-year period. Single-family housing completions in April were down 6.5% from March.
