Kodiak Building Partners, a national building materials distributor based in Englewood, Colo., announced Ponderosa Building Supply, a greenfield expansion company in Hauser, Idaho.

With this new company, Kodiak aims to enhance its operations in Idaho and the Northwest by leveraging the region’s timber supply and adding more jobs to the market.
“The construction industry is growing in the Northwest, including northern Idaho and Wyoming,” said Steve Swinney, Kodiak’s CEO. “The state of the market, coupled with the region’s position as one of the top producers of timber in the U.S., makes this an opportune time to invest in a new venture like Ponderosa Building Supply.”
Kodiak also announced two appointments to new strategic roles created to support the expansion: Kevin Prosser as area vice president, LBM Idaho and Wyoming, and Tim Borg as general manager of Ponderosa Building Supply.
Kodiak has more than 140 locations across 29 states.
