It’s all in the name. McNaughton-McKay Electric Company has rebranded as McNaughton McKay Group (MMG), bringing five affiliated businesses together under a single name. The move consolidates McNaughton-McKay Electric Company, The Reynolds Company, Caniff Electric Supply, Flow-Zone, and S&D Service & Distribution GmbH, which collectively operate more than 60 locations across nine U.S. states and Germany.

The company, founded in Detroit in 1910, has grown into one of the largest electrical distributors in North America. It serves a wide range of industrial, commercial, and construction customers with electrical and automation products and services. The rebrand is the latest step in a broader strategy to align operations and customer experience across its expanding footprint.
“This rebrand is not about replacing individual companies—it’s about elevating what we do together,” said CEO Mark Borin. “We’re honoring each company’s legacy while moving forward with a unified identity that reflects our shared values and our focus on customers.”
The company emphasized that local teams and relationships will remain intact, even as the brand becomes more cohesive. Borin described the new structure to strengthen what MMG calls its culture of “Empowered Owners”—a reference to its employee-owned model.
The rebranding comes amid ongoing consolidation in the distribution industry, as companies seek to build scale, streamline systems, and offer more consistent service across regions. A unified brand can also help MMG compete more directly with national distributors and digital-first providers.
To support the transition and drive growth, MMG also appointed Steven Guidry as executive vice president of sales and marketing. Guidry brings more than 30 years of experience in electrical distribution and manufacturing, including leadership roles at The Reynolds Company and most recently as senior vice president at AD’s Electrical – U.S. Division.
MMG says Guidry will focus on enhancing sales and marketing capabilities across all regions and strengthening relationships with suppliers and customers.
By rebranding and restructuring leadership, McNaughton McKay Group is positioning itself to meet the evolving needs of its customer base, while preserving the regional expertise that has shaped its growth over the past century.
