Medline Industries, one of the largest privately held distributors of medical-surgical supplies, has signed big vendor agreements with two regional healthcare providers: The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center and Santiam Hospital and Clinics in Oregon.
Under the terms of the multi-year deals, Medline will supply a comprehensive range of medical-surgical products to more than 100 facilities within the Ohio State Wexner system and 11 Santiam Hospital locations, including its main hospital and rural health clinics.
In addition to product distribution, Medline will provide logistics expertise and support initiatives focused on supply chain efficiency, product standardization, and clinical performance, Medline said.
Medline, based in Northfield, Illinois, operates more than 45 distribution centers across the U.S. and serves healthcare systems in over 100 countries. The company provides hospitals, surgery centers, and other healthcare providers with products ranging from exam gloves and surgical drapes to custom procedure trays and infection-prevention products. It also offers advanced logistics, inventory management, and technology-enabled supply chain services.
The Ohio State agreement will be supported by Medline’s 1.2 million-square-foot West Jefferson, Ohio, distribution center, which opened in 2023. The facility features robotics for warehouse automation and is part of Medline’s proprietary MedTrans fleet network, which enables next-day delivery to 95% of customers across the country, the company said.
“Our advanced distribution capabilities and technology enable us to support the medical center as they scale operations,” said Tiffany Sancin, executive account director at Medline.
In Oregon, Medline’s Portland-area distribution hub will serve as the primary logistics center for Santiam Hospital, a nonprofit community health provider that treats more than 40,000 patients annually and employs over 500 staff. Medline will support the organization’s procurement needs across multiple care sites, including by streamlining access to sterile procedure trays and essential clinical supplies.
“This partnership address(es) complex supply chain and standardization challenges,” said Ryan Dickson, director of Medline’s acute care division.
