MEMA Resets the Top Ranks as Auto Suppliers Brace for a High-Stakes Transformation

MEMA, the vehicle supplier’s association, is moving to solidify its leadership as vehicle suppliers confront rapid shifts in technology, regulation, and global supply chains, reaffirming its executive transition and senior management team this week.

The association confirmed that Paul McCarthy, appointed president and chief executive officer in 2025, is steering MEMA through a period defined by electrification, software-driven vehicles, supply chain realignment, and intensifying policy scrutiny at both the state and federal levels.

McCarthy succeeded Bill Long, whose tenure MEMA credited with expanding member engagement and strengthening the group’s advocacy footprint during years marked by pandemic disruption and supply chain instability.

Backing McCarthy is a senior leadership team structured around MEMA’s two core constituencies — original equipment and aftermarket suppliers — along with government affairs and finance. The team includes Emily Poladian, president of MEMA Aftermarket Suppliers; Collin Shaw, president of MEMA original equipment suppliers; Ana Meuwissen, senior vice president of government affairs; and Mike Blawas, chief financial officer.

Poladian joined MEMA in October after more than 27 years in the supplier industry, most recently as president of Bridgestone Mobility Solutions at Bridgestone. There, she led a multibillion-dollar aftermarket business with a focus on digital transformation, strategic growth, and global partnerships — experience MEMA says is critical as aftermarket suppliers adapt to new vehicle technologies and changing service models.

The association said the leadership team’s priority is to embed MEMA more deeply into members’ business strategies, sharpen its policy advocacy and ensure supplier perspectives are represented as lawmakers and regulators weigh rules affecting vehicle technology, emissions, data, and trade.

“MEMA’s leadership reflects both continuity and momentum,” said Jon Husby, chair of the MEMA board of directors and president and chief executive officer of ADAC. “Paul McCarthy and the senior leadership team bring the experience, credibility and urgency our industry needs right now.”

Founded in 1904, MEMA represents more than 1,000 vehicle suppliers, parts manufacturers, and remanufacturers across North America. Through its aftermarket and original equipment groups, the association represents companies that supply two-thirds of the value of every vehicle, from initial assembly through its operating life.
