Office Depot is tightening the gap between retail and wholesale fulfillment with the launch of its “15-Minute Pickup Promise.” The nationwide program guarantees that customers can collect online or mobile orders within 15 minutes of purchase—or receive a $15 coupon if the deadline is missed.
Available at Office Depot and OfficeMax locations across the U.S., the program highlights how distributors with strong omnichannel models are raising expectations for speed and reliability. Customers must place qualifying orders at least an hour before store closing to use the in-store or curbside pickup option.
“At Office Depot, we’re committed to providing the fastest and easiest shopping experience in the nation for our customers, whether they’re wrapping up back-to-school lists or running their own small business,” said Kevin Moffitt, president of Office Depot.
The move places additional pressure on distributors and retailers that advertise same-day pickup or delivery but stop short of guaranteeing service within a fixed window. By making fulfillment speed a point of competitive differentiation, Office Depot is positioning itself more like a distributor promising rapid replenishment rather than a traditional retailer.
The company continues to layer in other logistics options, including same-day delivery for $4.99, same-day printing for select orders placed by 2 p.m., and PayPal’s buy-now, pay-later program for eligible purchases.
For parent company The ODP Corporation, the promise reflects a broader strategy to integrate retail stores, ecommerce, and its B2B distribution arm into a unified fulfillment network. By blending store-based pickup with distribution-level speed, ODP is signaling to the office supply sector—and to distributors across industries—that customer loyalty now hinges as much on logistics performance as on product assortment.
