Palmer Holland, a Cleveland-based specialty chemical and ingredient distributor, has launched an AI-driven product knowledge platform aimed at streamlining how customers and suppliers access and manage product data.
The platform, which went live on Monday, creates a centralized hub of technical and regulatory information covering Palmer Holland’s portfolio. Customers can now search for products, request samples, and download documentation through a single interface, while internal teams gain faster access to accurate data to support compliance and sales efforts.
For Palmer Holland, the rollout marks a significant step in its broader digital transformation strategy. The distributor, which is employee-owned and operates across the U.S. and Canada, said the initiative will help accelerate growth by improving speed, accuracy, and transparency for customers and suppliers.
“This launch is more than a technology upgrade; it is the foundation for how we will innovate, engage, and create value for years to come,” said Charlie Laurie, chief information officer at Palmer Holland. “We’re unlocking faster access to accurate product data, streamlining compliance, and empowering our teams with tools to be more efficient.”
The new platform is designed to address some of the biggest challenges in specialty distribution, where customers often face long waiting times for information and suppliers struggle to keep product data up to date across markets. By centralizing product knowledge, Palmer Holland expects to reduce complexity, adapt more quickly to shifting global regulations, and strengthen its supplier partnerships.
Founded in 1925, Palmer Holland distributes raw materials to industries including agriculture, health and nutrition, lubricants, engineered materials, and CASE (coatings, adhesives, sealants, elastomers). The company employs more than 50 account managers and ingredient consultants across North America.
Palmer Holland’s investment comes as distributors across industries race to modernize their digital infrastructure. Competitors are increasingly turning to AI and master data management platforms to differentiate on service, compliance, and speed—areas where distributors see growing pressure from both customers and suppliers.
