Pipistrel, a subsidiary of Textron Inc., has opened a new parts warehouse in Wichita, Kansas, to improve support for its North American customers. The facility will stock more than 200 parts for Pipistrel’s current production aircraft, providing quicker access to components needed for maintenance and warranty services, the company said.
Pipistrel, based in Slovenia, produces electric and hybrid-electric aircraft, including the Velis Electro, the first fully certified electric aircraft. The company has delivered more than 2,500 aircraft since its founding in 1989, with a focus on light aircraft and gliders.
The Wichita warehouse will hold parts necessary for regular maintenance and warranty requests. By the end of 2025, it is expected to carry a broad range of frequently requested components. This move is part of Pipistrel’s effort to improve its distribution capabilities and customer support in the U.S.
“We aim to improve our service by providing faster access to the parts our customers need,” said Tricia Steel, Pipistrel’s Vice President of Global Sales and Marketing. “This warehouse will help us support our growing customer base in the U.S.”
The new warehouse follows other initiatives aimed at expanding Pipistrel’s U.S. presence, including the deployment of field service representatives in 2024. These steps are intended to streamline operations and ensure customers can maintain their aircraft with minimal delay, the company said.
Pipistrel’s distribution operations are evolving as its market in North America grows. The company’s investments in customer support, including the new warehouse, are aimed at improving service efficiency and supporting the maintenance needs of its aircraft customers across the region, according to Pipistrel.
