The Producer Price Index for final demand fell 0.1% in July 2024, seasonally adjusted, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reported. Final demand prices moved up 0.2% in June and were unchanged in May.

On an unadjusted basis, the index for final demand rose 2.2% for the 12 months ended in July 2024.
The July increase in the index for final demand can be attributed to a 0.6% rise in prices for final demand goods. Meanwhile, the index for final demand services dropped by 0.2%.
After a 0.1% rise in June, prices for final demand less foods, energy, and trade services advanced 0.3% in July. For the 12 months ended in July, the index for final demand less foods, energy and trade services increased by 3.3%.
