Global electrical distributor Rexel reported third-quarter 2023 sales for the period ended Sept. 30, 2023, were €4.7 billion, down 3.1% year over year. Sales were up 2.6% on a constant and same-day basis.

Sales for the first nine months of the year were up 3.8% year over year to €14.4 billion.
Third-quarter sales in North America were up 2.7%, and Europe was up 3.4%. Those areas offset Asia-Pacific, which was down 2.7%.
U.S. sales were up 1% year over year for the quarter to €1.7 billion, and up 4.5% year to date to €5.1 billion. In Canada, sales were €387 million in the quarter, up 10.9%. Sales were €1.13 year to date, up 8.4%.
The four product categories related to electrification (Solar, Electric Vehicle charging infrastructure, HVAC and Industrial Automation), represented 22% of sales and were up 5% in the quarter.
North America largely benefited from industrial reshoring while electrification categories in Europe continue to grow at a slower pace on a high comparable base.
Digital sales now represent 28.4% of Rexel’s total globally. In North America, digital sales make up 21% of sales.
