Sales of merchant wholesalers, except for manufacturers’ sales branches and offices, were $678.1 billion in September, up 0.9 percent from the revised September 2022 level, and up 2.2% from August 2023, according to the U.S. Census Bureau.

Total inventories were $901.8 billion in September, down 1.2% from September 2022 and up .2% from August 2023.
The inventory/sales ratio for September 2023 was 1.33 compared to 1.36 for September 2022.
